BOSTON – In the final non-conference game before starting Patriot League play, the Boston University men's soccer team will host regional rival Brown on Tuesday night with action slated to begin at 7 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • The Terriers are 2-0 at Nickerson Field this season with a 2-1 win over UMass and 3-0 victory against Northeastern after posting a 6-2-1 home mark last season.
  • Brown marks the second of four scheduled Ivy League opponents for BU this season ... This past Friday, the Terriers grabbed an early 1-0 lead at Princeton before coming up just short, 2-1.
  • Sophomore Magnus Benediktsson became the second consecutive Terrier to claim Patriot League Midfielder of the Week accolades on Monday following junior Anthony Viteri's nod last week.
  • Viteri has recorded at least one point in all four games to lead the team with seven total (3g,1a), while Benediktsson is second at six points (1g,4a) ... Benediktsson also ranks tied-for-second nationally in assists per game (1.00).
  • Senior goalkeeper Matt Gilbert owns a .600 save percentage and 1.54 goals against average. 
  • For the first time since 2012, the Terriers have gone four games to start the year without reaching overtime once.
  • BU is leading opponents in shot attempts, 15.5-9.0.
SCOUTING BROWN
  • The Bears started the season with home wins over Bryant (1-0), Georgia State (2-1 OT) and SMU (2-0) ... They are currently in the middle of a five-game road trip after falling at UMass Lowell (2-1) and UMass (2-0).
  • Five Bears have earned at least one goal and seven total have recorded at least one point.
  • Nate Pomeroy has totaled five points already through five games off two goals and an assist after posting five total in 16 games last year.
  • Erik Hanson has played all 457:06 this season and owns a .706 save percentage along with a 0.98 goals against average.
SERIES HISTORY
  • Last Meeting: Oct. 13, 2015 – @ Brown 2, BU 0
    • Brown scored in the 12th and 65th minutes, respectively.
    • The Terriers finished with a 19-11 advantage in shots, as both teams tallied six saves apiece. 
  • Brown leads the all-time series, 23-14-4, that dates back to 1969 ... The Bears are 6-0-2 in the last eight contests, having won the last six meetings by a combined score of 11-1 with five shutouts.
  • BU last won in 2007 at Brown (1-0) and at home in 2004 (2-0).
  • Two years ago, BU was ranked No. 23 by the NSCAA and dropped a 1-0 decision to Brown at Nickerson Field after the Bears netted the game winner in the 85th minute with a header off a free kick.
