BOSTON – Looking to carry momentum from the last two road victories, the Boston University men's soccer team will open a three-game homestand against Loyola Maryland on Sunday with Patriot League action set for a 1 p.m. start.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU is 2-0 at home thanks to a 3-1 win over Brown on Sept. 5 and 1-0 victory against Navy back on Sept. 20.
- In conference play, BU also owns a 3-2 win at then-No. 24 Bucknell and 1-0 loss at Army West Point.
- Senior Ethan Gill has scored in each of the last two games to lead the Terriers with three goals. His six points are two behind the leaders, sophomore Pharis Petrica (2g,4a) and junior Lapo Romieri (2g,4a).
- In total 10 Terriers have scored at least one goal and 12 have earned at least one point.
- BU is 4-0 this season when scoring at least three goals after accomplishing the feat in each of the last two games at Bucknell and Harvard. Both featured an identical 3-2 result.
- All three Terrier keepers have appeared in at least two games with senior Sheraz Saadat starting the last two. Saadat along with junior William Clavier and senior Ben Alexander have combined for a .729 save percentage and 1.44 goals against average.
- Opponents are averaging two more shots per game (12.3-10.3) with a 46-37 advantage in corner kicks. However, the Terriers own a .559 shots on goal percentage while holding teams to .432 percentage.
SCOUTING LOYOLA MARYLAND
- All three of the Greyhounds' PL games have been decided by one goal with Loyola beating Holy Cross, 1-0, at home and falling on the road at American (1-0) and Lehigh (2-1).
- Loyola also owns a home win over NJIT (2-0) along with a 3-3 tie against St. Francis (Pa.).
- Jack Endacott leads the Greyhounds with seven points (2g, 3a), one ahead of Charlie Herley (3g). Jordan Luchies is tied with Endacott at three assists.
- Both Connor O'Keefe and Dylan Van der Walt have appeared in five games apiece, combining for a .550 save percentage and 2.00 goals against average.
- Opponents have attempted just one more shot through the first nine games at 93-92 with a 35-32 advantage in corner kicks.
SERIES HISTORY
- The two teams are tied in the all-time series, 5-5-4, with BU owning a 4-3-0 home record.
- BU is currently on a three-game unbeaten streak at 2-0-1 following last year's 2-2 draw in Baltimore.
- Both seniors Ryan Lau and Damola Salami found the back of the net, as the Greyhounds finished with a 13-8 advantage in shots and 5-0 lead in corner kicks.
