Men's Soccer to Wrap Road Trip at Harvard in Tuesday Night Derby

BOSTON – Concluding a three-game road trip, the Boston University men's soccer team will visit Harvard Tuesday night with the derby set for a 7 p.m. start time.

The Terriers enter the non-conference matchup looking to carry momentum from Saturday's 3-2 win at No. 24 Bucknell, while the Crimson are hoping to bounce back from a 1-0 home loss to Princeton.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Sophomore Pharis Petrica earned his second Patriot League Midfielder of the Week award on Monday after scoring a goal against the Bison and assisting on senior Ethan Gill's goal.
  • Petrica and Gill are joined by junior Lapo Romieri, junior Andrea Di Blasio and freshman Sebastian Otero in tallying two goals apiece.
  • Both Petrica and Romieri also lead the Terriers at three assists, one ahead of sophomore Dylan Williams.
  • Otero netted his team-leading second game winner against the Bison after first accomplishing the feat at Charleston.
  • Making his first start of the season at Bucknell, Sheraz Saadat totaled a career-high nine saves. Junior William Clavier owns two starts, highlighted by a three-save performance in a 1-0 win vs. Navy, while senior Ben Alexander has a shutout as well over five starts with a two-save game in a 1-0 win at New Hampshire.
  • In total, the three keepers have posted a combined .738 save percentage and 1.38 goals against average.
  • Overall, opponents are averaging 2.4 more shots helped by a 43-31 lead in corner kicks. 
SCOUTING HARVARD
  • The Crimson are 2-2-1 at home with 1-0 victory over New Hampshire and 3-1 win vs. California. They also recorded a 0-0 draw with Northeastern and came up short to Belmont, 1-0.
  • On the road, Harvard claimed a 2-0 win at Providence and battled UConn to a 1-1 tie.
  • Both Andreas Savva and Dylan Tellado lead the Crimson at six points with two goals and two assists apiece, while Ben Kelly is third at five points thanks to a team-high three assists.
  • Cullen MacNeil and Lucian Wood have split time at net, combining for a .862 save percentage and 0.57 goals against average.
  • Opponents are averaging 1.5 more shots per game (12.9-11.4) with a 45-31 advantage in corner kicks.
SERIES HISTORY
  • The Crimson lead the all-time series, 28-17-10, in a rivalry that dates back to 1951.
  • Harvard is on a four-game unbeaten streak at 2-0-2 after the teams battled to a 1-1 draw in each of the last two seasons.
  • Last year, the teams combined for just 11 shots with Harvard striking first at 48:30 and BU netting the equalizer at 83:01.
  • The Crimson are riding a five-game home unbeaten streak at 3-0-2.

LOOKING AHEAD
  • The Terriers will return home to host Loyola Maryland on Sunday (Oct. 6) at 1 p.m. with the all-time series tied, 5-5-4.
  • BU is on a three-game unbeaten streak at 2-0-1 following last year's 2-2 draw in Baltimore.
  • Two years ago at Nickerson Field, the Terriers scored three goals over the final 18 minutes to earn a 3-1 victory.
