EASTON, Pa. - The No. 9 Boston University field hockey team will hit the road for the first time in a month when it visits Lafayette on Friday (Sept. 23) for a Patriot League contest. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

The Terriers enter the weekend with a perfect 7-0 record and are one of five undefeated teams remaining in Division I, joining Duke, Syracuse, Penn State and Connecticut. BU will host UConn on Sunday (Sept. 25) at 1 p.m.

The Leopards (5-2) are a perfect 3-0 at home this season and Friday's contest will serve as their Patriot League opener. BU opened conference play on Saturday with a 9-0 rout of Colgate to close out a perfect 5-0 homestand.

BU is 3-0 all-time against Lafayette with wins in all three meetings since joining the Patriot League in 2013. Last season at New Balance Field, the Terriers posted a 3-1 victory over the Leopards with current seniors Taylor Blood, Hester van der Laan and Bea Baumberger Altirriba providing the game's first three goals.

Lafayette, which is coming off a 4-1 loss at Hofstra on Monday, is paced offensively by freshman Rosa Jonckheer, who has team highs in points (8) and goals (4). Senior Amanda Magadan has added seven points on three goals and an assist while junior Rosie Shanks has tallied three goals.

Senior Katelyn Arnold has played every minute in goal for Lafayette this season and sports a 2.34 goals-against average and a .594 save percentage.

BU boasts one of the most balanced offenses in the country with 11 players totaling three points or more and nine players with at least one goal.

Senior tri-captain Amanda Cassera has team highs in goals (5) and points (12) but senior Taylor Blood (4-3—11) and sophomore Ally Hammel (4-2—10), the two-time reigning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, are right behind her. Junior Allie Renzi and senior tri-captain Hester van der Laan each have three tallies.

BU, which hasn't allowed a goal in 141:26, ranks third in the nation in goals-against average at 0.99, has gotten stellar goalkeeping from senior Cammy Jensen, who ranks seventh nationally in goals-against average (1.04) and 12th in save percentage (.774).

After Friday's game, the Terriers will return home to face No. 3 Connecticut, which also enters the weekend with a 7-0 record.
