Terriers Visit Bucknell in Pivotal Patriot League Matchup Saturday

BOSTON - Following clinching a Patriot League tournament berth, the Boston University women's soccer team will continue to fight for postseason positioning as it heads to Bucknell on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a 2 p.m. contest.

Patriot League Picture

  • BU sits in fourth place with 16 points, trailing Colgate (17), Bucknell (18) and Navy (19).
  • The top four teams will jockey for positioning down the stretch, as Colgate and Navy will square off against each other on Saturday. Next Saturday, BU will host Colgate, while Navy will take on Bucknell.

  • Jesse Shreck is tied for second in the Patriot League in assists (5) and ranks third on the team in points (9).
  • In Patriot League games, Shreck has compiled seven points on two goals and five assists.
  • Amanda Fay leads the Patriot League in goals allowed (4), goals against average (.389), save percentage (.875) and is tied for second in shutouts (7).
  • Fay is one of four freshmen in the NCAA to have seven clean sheets this season and her .389 goals against average ranks seventh nationally.
Closing In
  • Head coach Nancy Feldman is five wins away from her 300th career victory at the helm of the Terriers.
  • Feldman has posted a 295-141-43 (.660) mark during her tenure at BU and owns a 387-159-53 (.690) career record.
Honor Roll
  • Rachel Bloznalis and Anna Heilferty were honored by the Patriot League this week, as Bloznalis was named Defender of the Week and Heilferty picked up her first Rookie of the Week nod.
  • Bloznalis earned her second weekly honor of the season after holding both Harvard and Loyola to six shots apiece.
  • Heilferty netted each of BU's game-winning goals, starting with a score in the sixth minute against the Crimson before finding the back of the net in the 26th minute against the Greyhounds.
Scouting Bucknell
  • The Bison earned a dramatic 2-1 victory over Lehigh on Wednesday, as Maddie Mulford delivered the game-winning goal in the 85th minute to bring Bucknell's record to 9-7-0 overall and 6-1-0 in the Patriot League.
  • Kendall Ham, the 2016 Patriot League Player of the Year, leads the team in goals (6) and points (15). All six of Ham's scores have come in the last seven games.
  • In net, Dani Kaufman leads the Patriot League in saves (86) and saves per game (5.38).
  • Bucknell also boasts a tough defense to break, as it has posted seven shutouts, including five against conference foes.
The Series
  • The Terriers are 4-2-0 all-time against the Bison and have dropped the last two contests, both on the road at Emmitt Field.
  • Bucknell ended BU's season in the Patriot League championship game last year, netting the game-winning goal five minutes into overtime for the 2-1 victory.
  • BU and Bucknell have met in the final of the Patriot League tournament in each of the last two seasons.
