No. 21 Terriers Set to Face Bucknell Saturday on Senior Day

BOSTON - Boston University field hockey's Class of 2018 will play its final regular-season home game on Saturday when the 21st-ranked Terriers host Bucknell. Game time at New Balance Field is set for 1 p.m.

Having already clinched the Patriot League regular-season title, the Terriers (10-7, 5-0 PL) will aim for their second perfect 6-0 conference season in three years. The Bison (8-8, 3-2 PL) have clinched a spot in the Patriot League tournament and will either be the No. 3 or 4 seed. 

The Terriers have won eight of their nine all-time meetings with the Bison with victories in each of the past five. The teams have faced off in each of the past four Patriot League tournaments.

Bucknell heads into the weekend having won five of its six contests, including 2-1 wins over both Holy Cross and Lock Haven last weekend.

Sophomore Brittany Willwerth leads the Bison in both points (20) and goals (7) and is tied with junior Lexi Quick for the team lead in assists with six. Quick has added five goals for 16 points and classmate M.C. Evans has 13 points on four goals and five assists.

In goal, Bucknell senior Emily Finn has started all 16 games and sports a 2.39 goals-against average and a .691 save percentage. 

BU is coming off a hard-fought 2-1 loss at No. 16 Harvard but are 4-2 in their past six games and has reached the 10-win mark for the 14th straight season.

With 20 points on 10 goals, freshman Ailsa Connolly has the most points by a BU freshman since fellow New Zealand natives Nicole van Oosterom and Jacinda McLeod put up 23 and 21 points, respectively, as rookies in 2009. Senior Grace Boston has recorded 16 points on seven goals and two assists while junior Kara Enoch has used a five-game point streak (3g, 3a) to raise her season point total to 15 (4g, 7a). 

Freshman Millie Baker and junior Kathleen Keegan continue to split time in the BU cage and rank first and tied for second in goals-against average in Patriot League play at 0.40 and 1.20, respectively. Baker also the top save percentage in league play at .833.

The Terriers have outscored their conference opponents by a 26-4 margin this season and hold the PL record for this, set in 2015 when they went 32-5. BU is 20-1 over its past 21 Patriot League contests dating back to 2014 and hasn't lost at home in conference play since its first-ever PL game in 2013.
