BOSTON – Currently sitting alone atop the Patriot League standings, the Boston University men's soccer team will visit conference foe Lafayette on Saturday afternoon with action slated to begin at 1 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU has yet to give up a goal in three PL games, posting wins over American (2-0), Lehigh (2-0) and Holy Cross (3-0) ... Program has opened conference play with three straight victories for the first time since 2014.
- The Terriers are 2-5-0 on the road this year with both wins coming against league opponents.
- BU now has eight individuals who have scored a goal this season after sophomores Satchel Cortet and Jerry Ozor found the back of the net against Holy Cross on Wednesday.
- Reigning PL Rookie of the Week Toti Knutsson leads BU with five points off two goals and an assist, while sophomores Matt McDonnell (2g), Mana Chavali (1g,2a) and Cortet (1g, 2a) all have four points.
- Junior T.J. Butzke became the fifth Terrier to post an assist on Wednesday.
- With three shutouts in six starts, sophomore Michael Bernardi owns a 0.733 save percentage and 1.40 goals against average.
- Senior and former PL Defender of the Week Adam Sheikali was named Turnpike Trophy MVP for his performance on the backline against the Crusaders.
- The Leopards are 1-2-0 in conference play with a 1-0 home win against Bucknell, 2-0 loss at Holy Cross and 1-0 defeat to Army West Point.
- Lafayette has sent a game to OT twice, dropping a 2-1 decision at Fairfield and falling at home to Albany (1-0), who defeated the Terriers, 3-0, back in September.
- Evan Vare and Christian Moyse have two goals apiece with Chris Gomez owning the other goal ... Gomez is one of four Leopards with an assist.
- Goalkeeper Brian Ehrlich owns six starts with a 0.650 save percentage and 2.02 GAA.
- Opponents have nearly doubled Lafayette in shot attempts, 116-66.
- The Terriers lead the all-time series, 3-1-0, with a 1-1 road mark.
- Lafayette won the first meeting at home, 2-0, in 2013 before the Terriers prevailed in OT, 1-0, in 2015 off a golden goal from senior Danny Foen.
- Last season, the Terriers escaped with a 1-0 win at Nickerson Field, as Matt Gilbert ('17) posted nine saves, including one off a penalty kick, to preserve the shutout ... Felix De Bona ('17) put BU ahead in the 18th minute off an assist from senior David Amirani.
