Women's Soccer Ready for Patriot League Semifinal Tilt With Bucknell

BOSTON - The Boston University women's soccer team will head to Navy's Glenn Warner Soccer Facility for the Patriot League tournament semifinals, where it will matchup against second-seeded Bucknell on Friday, Nov. 7 with kickoff slated for 7:35 p.m.

Patriot League Picture

  • BU advanced to the semifinals after a 1-0 quarterfinal victory over Lafayette at Nickerson Field Tuesday night.
  • Colgate topped Lehigh, 1-0, in overtime to advance to the semifinals as well.
  • Top-seeded Navy will take on the Raiders at 5 p.m. and BU and Bucknell will kickoff 45 minutes following the conclusion of the first semifinal game.
All-Patriot League
  • Rachel BloznalisJulianna Chen, Anna Heilferty, Dorrie Varley-Barrett and Christina Wakefield all claimed spots on the All-Patriot League team on Monday.
  • Bloznalis and Heilferty headlined the group with major awards, as Bloznalis repeated as the Defensive Player of the Year and Heilferty grabbed Rookie of the Year honors.
  • Wakefield joined Bloznalis on the First Team, while Chen and Varley-Barrett earned Second Team nods.

  • Additionally, Bloznalis and Jacki Carty earned weekly honors from the Patriot League, as Bloznalis was named the Defensive Player of the Week and Carty picked up her first Midfield of the Week honor.

  • BU has won the Patriot League tournament three times since joining the league in 2013.
  • The Terriers and Bucknell have met in the championship game in each of the last two seasons.

Scouting Bucknell
  • The Bison finished the regular season with a 10-8-0 record and went 7-2-0 in Patriot League contests.
  • Bucknell also placed five members on the All-Patriot League team, led by First Team selections and twin sisters Jackie and Kendall Ham, while Karli Cirovski, Meghan Holtz and Maddie Mulford earned spots on the Second Team.
  • Kendall Ham is tied for the league league in goals (9) and ranks third all-time on Bucknell's scoring list with 38 career goals.
  • Dani Kaufman has started all 18 games in between the pipes and owns a .805 save percentage and 1.29 goals against average.
The Series
  • The Terriers are 4-3-0 all-time against the Bison and have dropped the last three contests, which have all taken place at Emmitt Field.
  • Bucknell ended BU's season in the Patriot League championship game last year, netting the game-winning goal five minutes into overtime for the 2-1 victory.
