BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball will continue its two-game homestand as it welcomes Loyola Maryland to Case Gym on Friday, Jan. 5 for a 7 p.m. tip. BU students are eligible to receive free admission.

LAST TIME OUT

  • BU fell to defending Patriot League champion Bucknell, 63-58, Tuesday afternoon at Case Gym.
  • Vanessa Edgehill hit a 3-pointer with 17 seconds left that put the Terriers within one at 59-58, but the Bison would close out the game from the free throw line.
  • Edgehill led the team with 12 points, connecting on 3-of-7 from beyond-the-arc.
  • Corrine Williams notched 11 points and matched a career-high with three blocks.
  • Katie Nelson set a season-high and led the team with seven rebounds, while also reaching double-digit scoring figures with 11 points.

PATRIOT LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

  • Nia Irving was named the Patriot League Player of the Week after notching 22 points and 14 rebounds at Army West Point on Friday, leading the Terriers to a 60-59 victory in its conference opener.
  • Irving tallied her second straight double-double, matching a season-high with her 22 points on 11-of-18 shooting, including netting the game-winning basket with 11.8 seconds left.
  • The Fairfield, Maine native also matched a career-high with her 14 rebounds.
  • Irving has four double-doubles over the last 11 games and leads the team with 10.9 points per game.

SCOUTING LOYOLA

  • The Greyhounds have dropped their last eight games to fall to 2-11 on the season.
  • Loyola is coming off a 69-62 loss at Army West Point on Tuesday.
  • Stephanie Karcz and Izzy Therien are Loyola's top scoring threats, averaging 13.9 and 13.6 points per game, which rank fifth and seventh among Patriot League leaders.
  • Karcz is also the league leader in steals (39) and leads the Greyhounds with 9.1 rebounds per game.
  • Alexis Gray owns the team lead with 24 triples, which accounts for 44 percent (24-of-54) of Loyola's makes from beyond-the-arc.
  • Joe Logan is the winning coach in Loyola history, posting a 162-218 record during his 13 seasons at the helm.
