FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
- This is the first time ever that BU will be on the road for the Hockey East quarterfinals.
- In fact, prior to this year, BU was the only school to have never played a true road game in the Hockey East playoffs.
- The only year the Terriers did not play a single home playoff game was in their first postseason appearance back in 2008, when they faced New Hampshire in a semifinal contest at UConn.
- BU and Maine will be meeting in the playoffs for the first time this weekend.
- The Terriers will have faced every team but Merrimack in the league tournament after this weekend's games.
TERRIERS IN THE POSTSEASON
- BU is the most successful program in league history in the conference tournament, as the Terriers have won a record five championships, including four in a row from 2012-15.
- BU is 22-7 all-time in the league playoffs, including an 11-2 mark in the quarterfinals.
- The Terriers have advanced to the Hockey East semifinals in each of the last 10 years.
- Contrast that with Maine, which is 0-11 in the league playoffs, including an 0-8 mark in the quarterfinals.
BEST OF BU IN THE TOURNAMENT
- Rebecca Leslie is first among active skaters with 10 goals in the Hockey East tournament, and she is second among active players with 14 total points.
- Victoria Bach is third among the active assists leaders with nine helpers, and her 13 points is tied for third.
- Mary Grace Kelley is the only other Terrier with multiple conference postseason points, as she tallied a goal and an assist in a 2016 quarterfinal victory.
- Eleven different Terriers, including goaltender Erin O'Neil, have recorded at least one Hockey East postseason point.
- HISTORY WITH MAINE
- BU is 26-11-2 all-time against Maine, including a 12-6-0 mark at Alfond Arena.
- The Terriers were swept by Maine in the regular-season series for the first time ever this season.
- However, BU was missing its entire top line of seniors Victoria Bach, Rebecca Leslie and Nina Rodgers for the series against Maine on Jan. 6-7.
- The Terrier senior class is 3-3 all-time at Alfond Arena.
