Luevano Leads Terriers at Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White

BOSTON - The Boston University men's track & field team continued their indoor season on Saturday, hosting the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational at BU's Track and Tennis Center.
 
The Terriers were led by sophomore Paul Luevano who won the 1-mile run with a Patriot League leading time of 4:02.97 and also took first in the 5000m run with a time of 14:27.15, also tops in the PL.
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES MEN
  • Sophomore Paul Luevano dominated the 1-mile, finishing first with a personal-best time of 4:02.97 which is the top time in the Patriot League this season by more than four seconds.
  • Later in the meet, Luevano also took first in the 5000m run with a time of 14:27.15, also a personal best and the top time in the PL.
  • Senior Cameron Nurse finished fourth in the 200m dash with a time of 21.46, setting a new indoor personal best.
  • Sophomore Michael Huber finished 12th in the 500m run with a time of 1:07.45 while sophomore Chiebuka Onwuzurike finished just behind in 13th place with a time of 1:07.68. It was the first time competing in the 500m for both Huber and Onwuzurike in their collegiate careers.
  • Freshman Haig Rickerby took 20th in the 400m dash in a field of 55 with a time of 48.83.
  • In the field, Onwuzurike finished seventh in the long jump with a 6.31m (20' 8") leap, a new personal best.  
  • Freshman Nikolas Smith finished 16th in the 200m dash with a time of 22.10.
  • In the last event of the meet, the 4x400m relay team of Nikolas Smith, Robie Webster, Cameron Nurse and Haig Rickerby, finished fifth with a time of 3:16.27 in a field of 15.
CRIMSON ELITE MEET (FRIDAY)
