RED HOT REMATCH
• Fresh off the program's ninth Hockey East title, Boston University takes on historic rival Cornell.
• The Big Red is the top seed in this regional while the Terriers are the No. 4 seed.
• The team have met at Madison Square Garden every other year since 2007 for Red Hot Hockey. This season's edition went to the Big Red by a score of 4-3 back on Nov. 24.
• BU is on a seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1), second only to Princeton, which defeated Cornell in the ECAC semifinals before topping Clarkson in overtime for the title to push its unbeaten streak to eight (7-0-1).
• BU went 8-11-1 in its first 20 games and has just two losses in the 18 games since (13-2-3). Both losses occurred when Jordan Greenway was away for the Olympics.
• The Terriers are making their fourth straight NCAA tournament appearance, which is tied for the third-longest active streak behind Denver (11) and Providence (5).
• The seniors become the first class at BU to make the NCAAs all four years since the class of 1998, which won the 1995 national title as freshmen and went 6-3 in nine NCAA tournament games. BU made a program-record nine straight NCAA appearances from 1990-98.

SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the third NCAA tournament meeting for BU and Cornell. The other two were the 1967 and 1972 national title games, won by the Big Red (4-1) and Terriers (4-0), respectively.
• This marks the 47th time Boston University and Cornell have faced off, with Cornell holding a 24-19-3 advantage.
• BU is 7-4-2 in the past 13 meetings, but Cornell is 11-8-2 in the past 21.
• The teams first met on Jan. 10, 1925, on Beebe Lake in Ithaca, with the Terriers posting a 7-2 win. They played again at the same location a little over a year later (a 1-0 BU win) and did not play again until March 11, 1966, in the ECAC Tournament, where the Big Red earned a convincing 8-1 victory.
• As members of the ECAC, the teams met at least once a year for the next 19 years - through the 1983-84 season, after which BU joined the Hockey East Association.
• The Terriers are 7-5-2 in the 14 meetings that have taken place since they moved to Hockey East.

BACK IN NOVEMBER
• A late rally came up just short for Boston University on Nov. 25 at Madison Square Garden as then-No. 7 Cornell held off the Terriers, 4-3, to earn its first Red Hot Hockey win in six tries.
• Sophomore Dante Fabbro scored a goal and added two assists for the Terriers.
• Cornell took a 3-0 lead into the third period before Fabbro got BU on the board with a power-play goal from the top of the zone with 15:12 left in regulation.
• The Big Red made it 4-1 at 11:51 of the third before the Terriers made things interesting by scoring twice in a span of 77 seconds.
• BU threatened to knot it up with an extra attacker but the Big Red hung on to claim the win.
• The Terriers were undefeated in the first five Red Hot Hockey games against Cornell (3-0-2).
• BU recorded 38 shots on goal, which was the most Cornell allowed all season (Union had 36 in a 4-3 Big Red loss on Feb. 24).
• Fabbro assisted on BU's final two goals to match a career high with three points.
• Sophomore goaltender Jake Oettinger made 26 saves for the Terriers while Galajda turned aside 35 BU shots.
