BOSTON - Welcoming Boston College for a Case Gym edition of the battle of Comm Ave, the Boston University women's basketball team is set to host the Eagles on Sunday, Dec. 15. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on NESN.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- Hosting its first Education Day game since 2006, BU fell to UMass, 58-45, on Wednesday.
- Nia Irving posted her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
- Irving is just 56 points away from becoming the 23rd Terrier to reach the 1,000-career points milestone.
- Maggie Pina matched 12 points in her first career start, while Katie Nelson also reached double figures with a 10-point effort.
- Riley Childs grabbed nine rebounds as the Terriers matched a season-best with 40 rebounds.
- The rookie trio of Sydney Johnson, Annabelle Larnard and Pina have accounted for 221 of the team's 489 point total for the season.
- BU's bench has chipped in 17.8 points per game over the last four games, notching at least 18 points in three of those contests.
SCOUTING BOSTON COLLEGE
- The Eagles have dropped three of their last four games to stand at an even 5-5 on the season.
- BC is coming off an 85-73 defeat in its ACC opener at Duke on Sunday.
- Taylor Soule led the Eagles with a season-high 22 points and additionally led the team with nine rebounds against the Blue Devils.
- Cameron Swartz leads BC in scoring average (12.6), while Soule (11.8) and Emma Guy (11.3) follow right behind.
- Guy, the only Eagle to start all 10 games, is the top threat on the boards (6.0) and Soule is right behind (5.3).
- Marnelle Garraud leads the ACC in steals (25) and leads the Eagles with 3.9 assists per game, which ranks 10th in the ACC.
- Joanna Bernabei-McNamee is in her second season at the helm of the program.
- Bernabei-McNamee guided the Eagles to a 14-win season last year, the most wins for the program since the 2015-16 season.
THE SERIES
- Boston College took last season's matchup in Chestnut Hill, 78-51, to improve to 14-11 against the Terriers.
- Neither team has won more than two straight games since BU won three straight from 1981-91.
