BOSTON - Coming of its fourth-straight road win, the Boston University women's basketball team returns to Case Gym on Saturday, Feb. 16 for a Turnpike Trophy matchup against Holy Cross. Tip-off against the Crusaders is set for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

CITY OF BOSTON DAY

  • The busiest day on campus in Boston University Department of Athletics history will provide city of Boston residents with an unprecedented opportunity to cheer on the Terriers — for free. (Register Here)
  • Saturday, Feb. 16, will be City of Boston Day at BU, as Beantown residents will receive complimentary admission to all six ticketed Terrier events on campus that day, thanks to BU's Office of Government & Community Affairs and the Department of Athletics.
  • Doubleheaders will be held at Nickerson Field (men's and women's lacrosse), Case Gym (men's and women's basketball), and Agganis Arena (men's and women's ice hockey), all of which are located within a two-minute walk of each other.
  • City residents simply need to register online at this link at www.GoTerriers.com/BostonDay and tickets will be waiting for them at the ticket will-call location at the venue for the game(s).
  • Requests must be submitted online by 5 p.m. Friday, unless capacity is reached sooner.

TURNPIKE TROPHY

  • The Terriers are 7-1 in Turnpike Trophy games during the 2018-19 season series.
  • BU dominated Holy Cross in the 2017-18 Turnpike Trophy series, finishing with a commanding 21-4 score.
  • Since the Turnpike Trophy's inception, BU has posted a 69-2 record across the board against the Crusaders.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • Led by a 22-point outing from Payton Hauck, including dropping 16 in the second half, BU pulled out a 61-53 victory at Colgate Wednesday night at Cotterell Court.
  • Hauck came out unstoppable in the third quarter, putting in 10 straight points on 5-of-7 shooting.
  • Nia Irving also posted a strong game with 12 points and 14 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season.
  • Riley Childs grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds and fell one point shy of a double-double herself.
  • After going winless on the road in non-conference games at 0-6, BU has gone 6-1 in Patriot League games on the road.

SCOUTING HOLY CROSS

  • Holy Cross is riding a three-game win streak, with two of those wins decided by three points, to improve to 14-9 overall and an even 6-6 in Patriot League games.
  • Lauren Manis is the top threat for Holy Cross, as she ranks second in the league in scoring (17.9) and rebounding (11.5).
  • Manis is coming off her 17th double-double in the Crusader's most recent outing, tacking on 13 points and 14 rebounds to guide a 47-44 win against Navy.
  • Avery LaBarbera is the second-leading freshman scorer in the league, and also ranks second on the Crusaders in scoring (11.3) while leading the team in minutes (34.3).
  • LaBarbera posted a game-high 23 points in the last matchup against the Terriers Jan. 16, while Lauren Manis (20 points, 11 rebounds) and Megan Swords (13 points, 10 rebounds) posted double-doubles.
  • Madalyn Smith is handing out 3.9 assists per game, while Swords is averaging 10.9 points and 7.3 boards.

THE SERIES

  • Holy Cross got off to a hot start in the first matchup Jan. 19 in Worcester, outscoring BU 24-14 in the first quarter to guide a 75-69 win.
  • That win for Holy Cross marked its first point in the 2018-19 Turnpike Trophy series, claiming its first point against the Terriers in nearly a year since defeating BU's men's basketball team on Feb. 10, 2018
  • BU and Holy Cross have split the series over the last four games, though the Crusaders lead the all-time series 15-6.
