BOSTONÂ -Â Â In their final competition before the Patriot League Championships, the Boston University men's track & field team hosted the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday.

The Terriers were led by sophomore
Nikolas Smith who had a strong showing in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:04.84, good for sixth among collegians in a field of 64. Junior
Paul Luevano competed in 800m run and finished with a time of 1:53.60, in 40th place in a large field of 273 runners.

In addition to the action on the track, Boston University track and field also honored its senior class from the men's and women's teams during a ceremony held on the TTC infield.Â

NOTABLE PERFORMANCESÂ
- Sophomore Nikolas Smith had a strong showing in the 500m run, finishing with a time of 1:04.84, good for eighth place (6th among collegians) in a field of 64.Â
- Junior Paul Luevano competed in 800m run and finished with a time of 1:53.60, in 40th place in a large field of 273 runners.
- Senior Robie Webster finished 45th in the 400m dash with a time of 49.43 while junior Jamin Harris finished 89th with a time of 50:49 in a field of 195.
- Freshman Riley Sasaki made his debut in the 200m dash and finished with a time of 22.61.Â
- In the field, senior Clint Lockwood finished eighth in the shot put with a throw of 15.56m (51'.75"), a new personal best. Lockwood later took 14th in the weight throw with a toss of 15.06m (49'5").
OTHER NOTABLE PERFORMANCESÂ
- The men's mile race saw an amazing 12 sub four-minute miles, led by Waleed Suliman of Old Miss who finished first with a time of 3:56.78, electrifying the big crowd at the TTC. Suliman and second-place finisher Casey Comber of Villanova (3:57.80) had two of the four fastest miles run in the country this year.Â

- Following this weekend's competition, the track & field teams will travel to Annapolis, Md. to compete at the Patriot League Championship hosted by Navy on Feb. 15-16.
