BOSTON - Looking for its fifth straight win at home, the Boston University women's basketball team will return to Case Gym as it hosts Colgate on Saturday, Jan. 18. Opening tip is set for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on the Patriot League Network.

Nia Irving will be recognized prior to the start of the game for scoring her 1,000th career point Sunday at Army.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • Katie Nelson posted her fourth 20-point effort of the season as BU overcame an early 12-point deficit to claw out a 44-42 win over Loyola on Wednesday.
  • Riley Childs set a new career high with 14 rebounds, snagging 12 on the defensive end.
  • Sydney Johnson scored 16 points off the bench, while Audrey Nicholson made her debut and first career start.
  • Nelson has averaged 16.6 points per game over the last seven games and currently leads the team with 14.3 points per game, which ranks fifth in the Patriot League.
  • The junior is averaging 16.1 points per game in games at Case Gym this season and has averaged 21.0 points per game over the last four home contests.
  • Childs leads the team in rebounding (7.6), which ranks seventh in the Patriot League, and has upped her average to 9.2 rebounds per game in conference games.
  • Johnson ranks fourth on the team in scoring (8.4) and ranks second in assists per game (2.1).
  • BU has started at least one freshman in all 15 games and has started at least two rookies 13 times.
SCOUTING COLGATE
  • Colgate is off to its best 16-game start in program history with a 12-4 overall record, while its off to its best Patriot League start at 4-1 for the first time since the 1991-92 campaign.
  • The Raiders boast the top offense in the league with an average of 72.4 points per game and a .457 field goal percentage.
  • Rachel Thompson, the Patriot League Player of the Week and College Sports Madness Mid-Major National Player of the Week, leads the team in points (17.3), rebounds (7.9), assists (5.2) and steals (2.5) per game.
  • Thompson recorded the program's first triple-double last Saturday against Navy with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
  • Abby Schubiger leads the league in field goal percentage (.563) and follows Thompson in scoring (11.0).
  • Taylor Langan is the team's top scorer off the bench (8.3) and is the team's primary threat from 3-point range with an average of 1.1 triples per game.
  • Head coach Bill Cleary is in his fourth season at the helm of the Raiders.
  • With 12 wins, Colgate has matched its win total from last season, which were the most since the 2004-05 season.
THE SERIES
  • BU split last year's season series and current holds the all-time series lead, 12-7, and is 7-6 against the Raiders since joining the Patriot League.
  • Neither team has won more than three games in-a-row, but BU has had the recent advantage, winning four of the last five matchups.
