Men's Soccer Travels to Bucknell for Saturday Noon Clash

BOSTON – Riding a three-game unbeaten streak, the Boston University men's soccer team will visit Patriot League foe Bucknell on Saturday with action slated to begin at 12 p.m.

The contest could carry major implications for the upcoming six-team Patriot League tournament, as the Terriers and Bison are currently tied-for-seventh at seven points, just two behind current No. 6 Army West Point and three behind both American and Lafayette with only three games remaining.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU started its current streak with a 1-1 come-from-behind draw at American and followed up with a pair of home wins over Colgate and crosstown non-conference rival Northeastern by a combined score of 5-1.
  • Junior Ronaldo Marshall has tallied three of his team-leading four goals during the streak, highlighted by a brace against the Huskies, while adding an assist against Colgate.
  • Freshman Brian Hernandez earned the program's first brace this season at St. John's and has tallied an assist in two of the last three games to rank second at six points, one point ahead of the other Terrier with a brace, sophomore Eitan Rosen.
  • With 10 starts and two solo shutouts, junior Francesco Montali owns a 1.56 goals against average with a .698 save percentage. 
  • Opponents are averaging 2.6 more shots per game with a 73-55 advantage in corners.
SCOUTING BUCKNELL
  • The Bison are looking to bounce back from last Saturday's 4-1 loss at PL leader Holy Cross (5-1-0) and 4-0 home defeat to Syracuse that was preceded by a 1-0 win at Colgate.
  • Bucknell is 1-3-0 at home with a 2-1 win over St. Bonaventure followed by conference losses to Army West Point (2-1) and American (2-1 OT).
  • Jordan Miller has scored half of Bucknell's 12 goals this season for a team-high 12 points, while Patrick O'Hara owns five points offa goal and three assists.
  • Bennett Schwartz has started 13 of the 14 games, posting a 1.61 goals against average and .693 save percentage. 
  • Opponents are averaging 3.4 extra shots with an 81-51 advantage in corner kicks.
SERIES HISTORY
  • Eight of the nine matchups between the two programs have gone to overtime with the Terriers recording a 1-3-5 all-time record.
  • The Bison earned a 3-0 home win in 2019 in the first matchup to end in regulation after BU pulled out a 2-1 OT home victory in 2018.
UP NEXT
  • The Terriers will remain on the road and visit Lehigh next Saturday (Oct. 30) for a 6 p.m. start.
