BOSTON – Hosting its first home game in 511 days, the Boston University men's soccer team will face Lafayette on Saturday evening with the ESPN+ broadcast set to begin at 6 p.m.

The Terriers (1-0) opened head coach Kevin Nylen's first season at the helm with a 3-0 victory at Colgate back on March 13. Sophomore Ronaldo Marshall struck first at 50:29 and was followed by classmate Ryan Lee's goal at 55:14 before freshman Aidan Holmes added a third goal at 76:08. Freshman Andrew Rent helped the offense with two second-half assists to claim Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors.

Colgate recorded a 13-12 advantage in shots despite BU finishing ahead in corner kicks, 5-3. Besides assisting on the third goal, freshman Eitan Rosen posted a team-high four shots, one ahead of Marshall. At net, senior Michael Stone and freshman Andrew Wike combined for five saves for the shutout.

The Leopards started the spring schedule with a 1-0 win at Bucknell before posting 2-1 home victories against Holy Cross and Colgate. Lafayette is more than doubling opponents in shot attempts, 11.7-5.0, and has only allowed five shots on goal in 270 minutes of action with Alex Sutton recording three total saves. Martin Ssessanga leads the Leopards with two goals, both of which are game winners, while Andrew Venezia owns two assists.

BU is 4-2-1 all-time against Lafayette after dropping a 2-1 decision in Pennsylvania in 2019. The Leopards struck first in the 34th minute and netted the game winner at 86:10, as they finished with a 12-4 lead in shots to snap a five-game winless streak. In the last meeting at Nickerson Field in 2018, the two squads finished in a 0-0 deadlock despite BU posting an 18-6 advantage in shots.
