No. 9 Terriers Begin Home-and-Home Series Friday at No. 18 UMass Lowell

The No. 9 Boston University men's ice hockey team will continue Hockey East play this weekend when the Terriers face No. 18 UMass Lowell in a home-and-home series that begins Friday at Tsongas Center (7:15 p.m.). The two teams will then face off at Agganis Arena on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Fans can purchase tickets for Saturday's contest by clicking here. For fans that cannot make it to Agganis, both games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with an audio-only broadcast located here. All games that take place in Hockey East rinks will be shown on ESPN+ this season.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU most recently took four of six points from current No. 10 UConn last weekend at Agganis, bouncing back from a 4-3 overtime loss on Friday with a convincing 5-2 victory on Saturday.
- Senior Matt Brown was named Hockey East Player of the Week after he collected a career-high four points (2g, 2a) in Saturday's win, including the game-winning goal.
- Brown, who played two seasons at UMass Lowell, leads Hockey East in scoring with nine points thanks to four goals and five assists, with eight of his nine points coming against ranked foes.
- He leads BU with four goals and he is tied with freshman Lane Hutson for the team lead in assists.
- Hutson scored his first collegiate goal and assisted on another in Saturday's win while junior Dylan Peterson also logged a goal and an assist on Saturday.
- Through five games this season, 14 different Terriers have scored a goal, with Hutson, Peterson, senior Case McCarthy and senior Jamie Armstrong all joining that list this past weekend.
- This weekend's matchup will feature a top-five offense against a top-10 defense.
- BU ranks fourth in the NCAA in goals per game, averaging 4.2 goals per contest.
- UMass Lowell is tied for eighth in scoring defense, allowing just 2.17 goals per game.
- BU and UMass Lowell are two of the top faceoff teams in the nation this season.
- The River Hawks and the Terriers are seventh and eighth, respectively, in the country in faceoff percentage.
- BU has won 56.4% of its draws while UMass Lowell has secured 56.5% of its faceoffs this year.
SERIES HISTORY
- Boston University is 78-35-12 (.672) in 125 all-time meetings with the River Hawks.
- Lowell, however, is 16-10-4 in the past 30 meetings and 17 of BU's 35 losses in the all-time series have occurred since the start of the 2011-12 season.
- The River Hawks swept BU last season thanks to a 3-0 win at Agganis and a 2-1 victory in Lowell.
- BU is 13-8-3 (.604) against Lowell at Agganis while the teams have played to a 17-17-5 record at the Tsongas Center.
- In 17 overtime games, BU is 5-0-12 versus Lowell.
SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS
- UMass Lowell is ranked 18th in both national polls after earning a 3-2 victory at then-No. 12/14 Northeastern on Saturday night.
- Owen Fowler, Zach Kaiser and Ben Meehan all lit the lamp for Lowell at Northeastern.
- Carl Berglund leads the River Hawks in both goals (4) and points (8) while Brian Chambers is second on the squad with seven points thanks to a team-high five assists.
- Henry Welsch made 26 saves against the Huskies to earn the win.
- Welsch and Gustavs Davis Grigals have each started three games between the pipes for the River Hawks this season, with each netminder owning a 2-1-0 record.
- Grigals sports a 2.02 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage while Welsch has a .928 save percentage and a 2.34 goals-against average.
- The lone UMass Lowell shutout of the campaign belongs to Grigals.
