BOSTON – Two weeks after their first meeting, the Boston University women's basketball program seeks to avenge their previous result against Lehigh with a matinee at Case Gym this Saturday (Feb. 5). Opening tip is set for 2 p.m.

Since that loss, BU has won three games in a row, gaining full possession of first place in the Patriot League standings. The Terriers look for their second four-game winning streak of the season.

Meanwhile, Lehigh sits 2.5 games back of the Terriers, and is tied for third in the table with American. The Mountain Hawks are the only PL team to defeat BU at this point of league play.

Saturday marks the program's celebration of National Girls and Women In Sports Day. Kids in eighth grade or below are free admission, and are encouraged to dress up as their favorite sports stars to earn a chance to win prizes from the marketing table.

In addition, the program is soliciting gently-used shoes and basketball donations as part of its Barefoot Game, in coordination with Play Bold. Members of the BU coaching staff will be barefoot on the sideline throughout the contest.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU dispatched Bucknell 67-58 on the road back on Feb. 2.
  • The Terriers started shooting just 3-for-15 and fell behind 17-7, but shot 22-for-41 the rest of the way, and outscored the Bison 16-0 in the final eight minutes of the first half.
  • Junior Sydney Johnson tallied her fourth 20-plus point game in league action with 23 points, adding five assists.
  • Classmate Maren Durant and freshman Alex Giannaros each had 10 points, including the latter's three with 1:23 left to put the Terriers up 60-54.
  • Sophomore Caitlin Weimar filled the stat sheet with nine points, 11 rebounds, a career-high four assists, and two blocks.
  • In their last 58 Patriot League regular season games, BU is 42-16.
  • The Terriers are also 25-5 in their last 30 games at Case Gym, which includes the postseason. That record is 20-3 against league opponents.
  • In BU's eight wins at home this year, the average margin of victory is 16.7 points.
  • Johnson, the reigning Patriot League Player of the Week, is averaging 20.5 points per game on 51.6 percent shooting in her last six contests.
  • Weimar is averaging 11.9 points and 9.9 rebounds in league action. BU is 6-0 when she grabs 10 or more rebounds.

  • Durant needs one block to tie Adrienne Norris for seventh place in the BU record books. Her 10.3 boards per PL game are fifth in the league.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
  • Lehigh is 14-6 on the season and 6-3 against Patriot League opponents.
  • Since the last meeting between these teams, the Mountain Hawks fell to Army 70-57 on the road, but rebounded with a 67-61 home victory against Holy Cross.
