BOSTON – Seeking to start Patriot League play 3-0 for the third-consecutive season, the Boston University women's basketball team heads to Lafayette on Thursday (Jan. 5). Opening tip is slated for 6 p.m.

BU has started 3-0 in the Patriot League in three of the last four seasons, and have never begun league action with three wins in a row in three-straight years. The Terriers are one of two teams, including Holy Cross and American, to have won their first two league contests.

Lafayette is one of three sides, joining Bucknell and Navy, to start league play 0-2. The Leopards are 2-2 at home this year, winning their last two games.

  • Senior Maren Durant entered the top 10 in career rebounds against Bucknell, tallying her 681st board to match Andrea Ashuck '89.
  • In addition to career rebounds, Durant now ranks in the top 10 in career field goal percentage (1st - .563), career rebounding average (5th – 7.7), and career blocks (5th – 138).

SCOUTING LAFAYETTE
  • The Leopards enter Monday's matchup with a 3-9, dropping their first two Patriot League contests to American and Army West Point.
  • Lafayette has allowed 75 points in each of those games, the most allowed in the first two matchups by a PL side.

  • Abby Antognoli is the lone Leopard to also score in double figures with 10.8 points per game. She has not seen game action since Dec. 3.

  • Lafayette was projected to finish sixth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll.
  • In 2021-22, the Leopards finished with a 12-18 record, going 7-11 to capture the seventh seed in the Patriot League Tournament and reach the quarterfinal round.

  • The Terriers sport an 18-10 edge in the rivalry.
