Terriers Look to Continue Winning Ways on Sunday vs. Columbia

BOSTON – The Boston University field hockey team will kick off the second half of a six-game homestand on Sunday (Oct. 8) when it hosts Columbia. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU enters Sunday on a three-game win streak following a 3-2 win over New Hampshire on Friday.
  • The Terriers are in search of their first four-game win streak since winning its first five games in the spring 2021 COVID season.
  • Senior Thalia Steenssens has 10 points (4g, 2a) during the win streak and is tied for first among Patriot League players in assists this season with seven.
  • Sophomore Caroline O'Brien has a team-high six goals, which ranks tied for second in the Patriot League.
  • Junior Tegan Poerio scored the late game-winner against the Wildcats on Friday and added an assist on the game-tying goal for a career-best three points.
  • Junior Kate Thomason has started all 11 games in goal for the Terriers and has a .714 save percentage and a 2.06 goals-against average.

  • Junior Lindsey Yu has a team-best 11 points on four goals and three assists.
  • Freshman Mckenzie Bloom has added nine points (4g, 1a) and senior Anabelle Brodeur has five points (1g, 3a).
  • Junior Katie Wimmer has started 10 games in goal and currently has a 2.21 goals-against average and a .744 save percentage.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • The teams have only met once as Columbia earned a 4-3 win in a neutral-site contest at Maine during the 2019 season.
