BOSTON – The Boston University men's rowing program continues the cup portion of its spring schedule when it takes on Northeastern in a battle for the Arlett Cup on Saturday (April 1). The first race is scheduled for 7:24 a.m.
Saturday's race is available to watch on ESPN+, requiring a subscription. Fans can watch online as well as through the ESPN app with the subscription.
Last time on the water, BU's Varsity 8 finished in 5:48.3, just under two seconds behind Brown in the Michalson Cup race on March 25. The Terriers' 4V8 crew picked up a win over the Bears' 4V8 and 5V8 boats, clocking in at 5:59.9.
Meanwhile, Northeastern retained the Burk Cup for the fifth-consecutive year after defeating Penn in the V8 in its own spring lidlifter. The Huskies' V8 finished in a time of 5:51.95.
BU's V8 entered the season ranked 11th in the IRCA/IRA Men's Varsity 8+ Poll. Northeastern was tied with Dartmouth for seventh.
The Huskies have held the Arlett Cup since 2018, winning three races in that stretch. This follows a stretch where the Terriers took home the cup from 2015-17. BU and Northeastern's Arlett Cup rivalry dates back to 1978. Both crews have faced off against one another since 1966.
