RANCHI, India - Four former Boston University field hockey standouts are in India for the 2024 FIH Olympic Qualifier on Jan. 13-19 as Ally Hammel '19 (USA), Sofi Laurito '16 (Italy) and Valentina Cerda '15 (Chile) will be competing for their national teams for three available spots in the Paris Olympics and Nikki Lloyd '10 will be a commentator throughout the tournament for Watch.Hockey. 

The United States and Italy are competing in Pool B while Chile is in Pool A. Cerda and Chile will open the tournament on Saturday (Jan. 13) at 1:30 a.m. ET when they face Germany. Laurito and Team Italy will get underway later in the day at 6:30 a.m. ET against New Zealand while the United Eagles will open with tournament host India at 9 a.m. ET.

All of Team USA's contests will be televised live on CBS Sports Network and every match is available on Watch.Hockey. The BU highlight of pool play will take place on Sunday when Hammel and Laurito - teammates on the Terriers' 2015 Patriot League title team - will face off at 6:30 a.m. 

The top two teams in each pool will automatically move on to the semifinals on Jan. 18. The winner of the third-place match and the two teams who go on to compete in the first-place match will all qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
