Field Hockey to Host Northeastern for Sunday Crosstown Matchup

The Boston University field hockey team will host crosstown rival Northeastern for its annual Pride Game on Sunday (Oct. 13) at New Balance Field. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • The Terriers are now 5-6 on the year and are coming off a 2-0 loss at American on Friday.
  • Senior Payton Anderson continues to lead the team in both points (15) and goals (7).
  • Anderson needs two more points to enter the program's top-10 career list.
  • Junior Natalie Epperson has eight points on four goals.
  • Senior Tegan Poerio and junior Megan Wetzel each have a team-best five assists, which ranks tied for fourth in the Patriot League.
  • The Terriers have scored on 14 of their 55 corners this season for a conversion percentage of 25.4 percent.
  • Graduate student Kate Thomason has started the past nine contests in goal for BU and has a 2.22 goals-against average and a .744 save percentage, which are both career highs.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
  • Northeastern is riding a four-game win streak and is coming off a 3-1 home win over Towson on Friday in CAA play.  
  • The Huskies' non-conference wins this season have come against New Hampshire, UMass Lowell, Holy Cross, Stanford and Quinnipiac.
  • Graduate student Lauren Rowe, the two-time reigning CAA Offensive Player of the Week, has a team-best 21 points on eight goals and five assists. 
  • Junior Emily Stubbs has 18 on a team-high nine goals while senior Maria Armaganian leads the squad in assists with six.
  • Senior Kristi Merashoff has started all 13 games in goal and sports a .675 save percentage and a 1.94 goals-against average.

SERIES HISTORY VS. NU

  • Sunday will mark the 56th meeting all-time between the two sides.
  • BU is 27-28 all-time against Northeastern.
  • The Terriers have won seven of the past eight meetings, including a thrilling 3-2 double-overtime triumph at home last season.
