WORCESTER, Mass. – Racing for the first time in two weeks, the No. 13 Boston University men's rowing team claimed a sweep Saturday morning with four varsity eight boats all winning on Lake Quinsigamond.

The Terriers faced crews from Holy Cross, Temple, Hobart and Marist on the course that will host the upcoming Eastern Sprints.

In the top Varsity 8 race, BU's boat coxed by Emily Slawin and stroked by Bowen de Gouw defeated the Crusaders by seven seconds, 5:56.3-6:03.39. The time different between the first and second-place boats continued to increase as the morning progressed.

Coxed by James Smith and stroked by Ali El Sayed, the Terriers' 2V8 boat posted a winning time of 5:59.23, nine seconds ahead of Temple. In the 3V8 race, BU's boat coxed by Peter Adams and stroked by Hurst Thompson defeated the Crusaders by 12 seconds, 6:07-6:19.45.

The 4V8 boat coxed by Hannah Noguchi and stroked by Seamus Dallman sealed the sweep at 6:14.44, finishing ahead of Holy Cross by nearly 40 seconds.

Following Saturday's racing, BU heads north to compete in the Lake Morey Invitational from April 27-28. The Terriers will race against Syracuse, Georgetown, Wisconsin and Dartmouth throughout the weekend.
