Curry, Carpenter to Face Off in Kelly Cup Finals

May 30, 2024

Former Boston University men's ice hockey standouts Bobo Carpenter ('19) and Patrick Curry ('20) will face off in the 2024 ECHL Kelly Cup Finals, set to begin on Friday, May 31.

Carpenter and the Florida Everblades will look to become the first team to win three straight ECHL championships when they skate against Curry and the Kansas City Mavericks. Games one and two will take place in Independence, Mo., before the best-of-seven series shifts to Estero, Fla., for games three and four. If necessary, game five will be in Florida, with the teams traveling back to Missouri for games six and seven.

Both Carpenter and Curry have been instrumental in their teams' postseason success. Curry is tied for third among all skaters with 16 playoff points thanks to seven goals and nine assists. That follows an incredible regular season in which Curry finished second in the ECHL in both goals (39) and points (87). Carpenter, a member of the Everblades' last two title-winning squads, leads Florida and is tied for seventh overall with 15 postseason points on eight goals and seven assists. In the regular season, Carpenter collected 47 points (28g, 18a) in 60 games.

Curry and Carpenter were teammates at BU from 2016-19, helping the Terriers reach three consecutive NCAA tournaments and claiming the 2018 Hockey East championship.
