The Boston University field hockey team will host the 2025 edition of the Green Line Rivalry on Sunday (Sept. 14) when No. 4 Boston College visits New Balance Field. Game time is set for 1 p.m.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU's is in the middle of a four-game homestand as six of its first seven games this season are being played at New Balance Field.
  • The Terriers got in the win column with a 4-2 triumph over Quinnipiac on Friday.
  • Senior Caroline O'Brien had a hand in every goal against the Bobcats, scoring twice and assisting on goals by junior Nicole Lauro and freshman Molly Driscoll.
  • Lauro and Driscoll now have two goals apiece this season while freshman Rachel Turer and senior Martu Coulo have each scored once.
  • BU opened its season on Aug. 29 with a 3-2 loss to Providence in a game that was decided by a shootout before falling in overtime, 3-2, to Vermont a week later.
  • Coulo and Lauro both earned spots on the Preseason All-Patriot League Team.
  • Sophomore Abbey Chun made seven saves versus Providence in her collegiate debut before adding five more against the Catamounts.
  • Junior Sophie Ortyl recorded six saves against the Minutewomen on Sunday and added five more in Friday's win.
  • Senior Natalie Epperson is the leading returner in points (8) and goals (4) while classmate Megan Wetzel had a team-best seven assists last season.
  • Coulo, Lauro and juniors Maggie Driscoll and Olivia Hammer were all named to the NFHCA Division I Watchlist.
  • Seniors Maddie Hudson and Celia Nocivelli are serving as co-captains this season.
  • Sally Starr is in her 45th season as head coach of the Terriers. 
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
  • After opening the year with wins over Maine, Indiana and then-No. 2 Maryland, BC has dropped its past two contests.
  • On Friday, the Eagles battled through both overtimes with No. 14 Massachusetts before the Minutewomen won the shootout to take a 2-1 win.
  • BC was picked fourth in the preseason ACC poll and earned a first-plact vote.
  • Freshman Caroline Chisholm leads the team with five points on two goals and an assist.
  • Junior Madelieve Drion and sophomore Melea Weber have each scored twice thus far this season. 
  • Drion is the team's leading returner in points in 24 after putting up eight goals and eights assists in 2024. 
  • Junior Charlotte Kramer is in her second season as the team's starting goalkeeper and she has combined with senior Carine Van Wiechen for an 0.56 goals-against average and an .812 save percentage this year.

SERIES HISTORY VS. BC

  • BC leads the all-time series, 25-18-3, and has won seven straight meetings.
  • The Terriers' last win over the Eagles came in overtime in 2016 and it created a tie in the rivalry history before BC went on its current run.
  • The teams first met in 1978.

  • BU will continue its homestand on Friday (Sept. 19) when it hosts American on the opening day of Patriot League play.
