The Boston University field hockey team completes a two-game weekend on Sunday (Sept. 5) when it visits No. 14 Massachusetts. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- This is BU's only road game during the first seven games of the season.
- On Friday, the Terriers dropped a 3-2 overtime contest to Vermont.
- Freshmen Rachel Turer and Molly Driscoll scored their first collegiate goals on Friday while junior Bella Bergner and seniors Caroline O'Brien and Megan Wetzel added assists.
- BU opened its season on Aug. 29 with a 3-2 loss to Providence in a game that was decided by a shootout.
- Senior Martu Coulo and junior Nicole Lauro, who both earned spots on the Preseason All-Patriot League Team, recorded goals against the Friars.
- Sophomore Abbey Chun made seven saves versus Providence in her collegiate debut before adding five more against the Catamounts.
- Senior Natalie Epperson is the leading returner in points (8) and goals (4) while Wetzel had a team-best seven assists last season.
- BU was picked fourth in the Patriot League preseason poll.
- Coulo, Lauro and juniors Maggie Driscoll and Olivia Hammer were all named to the NFHCA Division I Watchlist.
- The Terriers welcomed a six-member freshman class with student-athletes from Argentina, Northern Ireland, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maine and Connecticut.
- Seniors Maddie Hudson and Celia Nocivelli are serving as co-captains this season.
- Sally Starr is in her 45th season as head coach of the Terriers.Â
SCOUTING THE MINUTEWOMEN
- UMass is off to a 3-0 start, most recently earning a 3-2 shootout win at home over Brown on Friday.Â
- The Minutewomen opened their season last weekend with shutout road wins over Vermont (2-0) and UMass Lowell (3-0).
- Freshman Emily Barrett, senior Gabrielle Benkenstein and junior Neva Eisenga are the early scoring leaders, each posting two goals and an assist thus far.
- Sophomore Elani Sherwood is the leading returner in both goals (9) and points (22) after helping UMass reach the national semifinals last season.
- Senior Myrte van Herwijnen has made 29 straight starts in goal for the Minutewomen and has a 0.60 goals-against average and an .833 save percentage thus far this season.

- BU is an even 20-20-2Â all-time against the Minutewomen.Â
- Last season, the Terriers fell at home to UMass by a score of 5-3 despite holding a 15-2 advantage in corners.
