Terriers to Host Lafayette on Friday for Senior Day, Visit Northeastern on Sunday

The Boston University field hockey team will host its annual Senior Day on Friday (Oct. 24) when it welcomes Lafayette to New Balance Field and will head to Dedham Field on Sunday (Oct. 26) to close out its non-conference schedule with a matchup against Northeastern.
 
Friday's game will begin at 4 p.m. and Sunday's contest is set for noon.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS
  • The Terriers will honor seniors Martu Coulo, Natalie Epperson, Caroline O'Brien, Amalia Preece, Alex Purcell, Megan Wetzel, Maddie Hudson and Celia Nocivelli in a pregame ceremony on Friday.
  • BU is currently 5-8 this season and sits at fourth in the Patriot League with a 2-2 conference record.
  • The Terriers are coming off a 5-0 loss at Maine on Saturday, Oct. 18.
  • O'Brien continues to lead the Terriers in points, scoring 10 goals and notching six assists for 26 total points.
  • She is tied for the Patriot League lead in goals (10), leads the league in points (26) and is tied for third in the league in assists (6).
  • BU ranks second in the league in penalty corners per game with 6.92.
  • Junior Nicole Lauro has set a career high in goals with five while freshman Molly Driscoll has added four goals and an assist.
  • Junior Maggie Driscoll has five points on a goal and three assist and ranks tied for third among PL players in defensive saves with three.

SCOUTING THE LEOPARDS
  • Lafayette is currently 9-5 and 4-1 in the Patriot League, second in the league behind American.
  • The Leopards are coming off a 3-2 win over Colgate on Oct. 18.
  • They have Patriot League wins over Colgate, Holy Cross, Bucknell and Lehigh.
  • The Leopards even earned a ranked win, defeating No. 16 Penn State on Sept. 21, 3-2 in a shootout.
  • Lafayette's top scorers are junior back Lena Thedrian (5-4—14) and classmate Lea Good (4-6—14).
  • Leopards senior goalkeeper Raffi Fragomeni is second in the Patriot League in GAA (1.23) and has made six shutouts this season in her 14 games in the cage.
SERIES HISTORY VS. LAFAYETTE
  • The Terriers are 7-7 against the Leopards all-time and Lafayette has won the past five matchups.
  • BU is 4-3 all-time against the Leopards at home.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
  • Northeastern is 7-6 this season and 2-1 in CAA play, good for third in the conference.
  • The Huskies are coming off a two-win weekend, taking games from Quinnipiac (3-2) and Hofstra (2-1).
  • Junior Alex Mega is leading the team points with 11, scoring three goals and notching five assists.
  • Sophomore Camille Armaganian has posted five goals, the most on the team.
  • Indiana graduate transfer Arabella Loveridge has made 12 starts, notching a .725 save percentage and a 1.88 GAA.
SERIES HISTORY VS. NORTHEASTERN
  • BU is 27-29 all-time against Northeastern, dating back to the first meeting on Sept. 26, 1978.
  • The Huskies won the last meeting, 4-2.
  • BU has won seven of the past nine meetings between the two teams.
  • Sunday's matchup will be the third time Sally Starr and Northeastern head coach and BUFHA alumna Pam Spuehler have met – Starr holds a 1-1 record in games coached against her former player.
