Frances Hausmann, a senior on the lighweight rowing team, has sat in the one seat of the Terriers’ nationally ranked varsity eight boat for much of the past three seasons. During that time she has helped the Terriers take home lots of hardware.
As a junior, Hausmann sat in the bow of the varsity eight boat that won silver in the grand final of the 45th annual Eastern Sprints, helping the Terriers win the Ulbrich Trophy as Eastern Sprints Lightweight Team Champions for just the second time in program history. Hausmann was also in the bow of V8 boat that won gold at the Dad Vail with a time of 6:13.67, setting a new course record in the process.
As a sophomore, the Bellevue, Wash. native sat in the one seat of the varsity eight boat that won silver at the 2018 IRA National Championship Regatta, helping the Terriers finish as IRA National Runner Up for the third-consecutive season.
“Frances has been an integral part of our team’s success over the last four years,’ said lightweight rowing coach Malcolm Doldron “She is a true leader both on and off the water and a consistent performer. Her passion for rowing had a huge impact on her teammates and she always put the team first.”
