Boston (Oct. 12) -- The Boston University women's tennis team performed well at the Brown Invitational over the weekend going 11-11 in singles matches.
Freshmen Alana Marcu (Leonia, NJ) lead the way for the Terriers by taking four of five matches on her way to winning the Singles Flight B consolation final 6-0, 6-1. With the four victories Marcu increases her season record to 7-2.
Also performing well for BU was number one singles player Selin Nassi (Miami, FL), who won three of five matches before losing in the Singles Flight A consolation final 6-3, 4-6, 6-0.
In doubles action, Marcu and Carrie Rose (Bloomfield, MI) led the Terriers as they made it to the semifinals in Flight B.
The Boston University women's tennis team will next head to the ECAC Team Tournament on Friday,October 15-Sunday, October 17 at host institutions, Princeton and Rutgers.
Next home match for the Terriers will be Saturday, October 30 against Yale.
