The Terrier women's tennis team evened its spring record at 4-4 with a dominating straight-set 9-0 win over host Davidson College on Tuesday (March 8th). The match was the second of three for the Terriers during their annual spring break schedule. The day before, the women lost to Florida International, 8-1, while their final match of the spring trip will be at James Madison on Thursday (March 9th).
The most one-sided match of the day was at number-five singles where senior Chrissy Cerretani (Reading, MA) posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Also notching victories in singles were senior Selin Nassi (Miami, FL) at number one, 6-2, 6-2; sophomore Christina Causway (Wilson, NC), at number two, 6-3, 6-0; senior Karina Shostakovsky (Atlanta, GA) at number three, 6-4, 6-2; junior Carrie Rose (Bloomfield Hills, MI) at number four, 6-0, 6-4; and freshman Alana Marcu (Leonia, NJ) at number six, 6-0, 6-3.
Causway and Cerretani teamed up to roll to an 8-0 blanking at number one doubles. Shostakovsky and Nassi won at number two doubles, 8-6, while Rose and Marcu posted an 8-2 triumph at number three doubles.
