Terriers Open Spring Trip On Losing Note

The women's tennis team opened its spring-break trip on a down note, dropping an 8-1 decision to host Florida International University on March 6th. With the loss, the Terriers' spring record dropped to 3-4. The Terriers still have matches at Davidson College on Tuesday (March 7th) and at James Madison on Thursday (March 9th) before they return home to host Steven F. Austin on March 16th.

B.U.'s lone point against FIU came at number-two doubles where Selin Nassi (Miami, FL) and Karina Shostakovsky (Atlanta, GA) posted an 8-4 win.

Nassi was the closest Terrier to winning a point in singles. Playing at the number one spot, she lost 7-6, 6-3.

In other singles action, number two Christina Causway (Wilson, NC) lost, 6-2, 6-4; number three Karina Shostakovsky dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision; number four Carrie Rose (Bloomfield Hills, MI) lost, 6-1, 6-4; number five Chrissy Cerretani (Reading, MA) lost, 6-2, 6-1; and number six Alana Marcu (Leonia, NJ) lost, 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles play, Causway and Cerretani, playing at number one, lost, 8-3, while Rose and Marcu lost at number-three doubles, 8-0.
