2001 CUMULATIVE STATISTICS

Sophomore defender Celeste Hubbard notched her first career two-goal game in the Terriers' 5-4 overtime win at Delaware.
NEWARK, Del. - Sophomore forward Lindsey Domers (Voorhees, NJ) scored the game-winning goal 3:40 into the first overtime, lifting the Boston University field hockey team to a 5-4 conference win at Delaware on Friday night (Sept. 28). Sophomore defender Celeste Hubbard (Detroit, MI) and senior midfielder Felicia Cappabianca (North Caldwell, NJ) each tallied two goals to lead the Terriers.
B. U. had to overcome a pair of two-goal deficits to secure the victory. In the first half, Delaware senior Juli Byrd scored goals at 18:22 and 14:01 to give the host Blue Hens a quick 2-0 lead. Hubbard pulled the Terriers back to within a goal with an unassisted score with 6:42 remaining in the first half.
Delaware (6-2, 2-1) opened up a 3-1 advantage early in the second as freshman Jessie Balmer scored 1:30 into the half. The Terriers responded just 40 seconds later, as Hubbard scored her second goal of the game to once again cut the deficit to one goal at 3-2. It was Hubbard's first career two-goal game.
Cappabianca's first goal, assisted by junior tri-captain Casey Holman (Bridgeton, NJ), at 15:56 tied the score at 3-3. The Blue Hens' Byrd completed the natural hat trick at 12:03, scoring her third goal to make the score 4-3.
It was Cappabianca that once again provided the Terriers with the game-tying score, taking a pass from junior Jane Rogers (Watertown, MA) and beating Delaware goalkeeper Steph Judefind at 7:50 to knot the game at 4-4 and send the game into overtime. It was Cappabianca's second straight two-goal game. She scored twice in the Terriers' 5-1 win over Albany on Sept. 25. She also had an assist in the game.
Domers scored the unassisted game-winner at 11:20 of the first overtime to give the Terriers their first two-game winning streak of the season. For Domers it was her first goal of the season and second of her career.
The Terriers' junior goalkeeper Susan Harrington (Tuftonboro, NH) was solid in net, making two saves. Judefind stopped three Terrier shots.
The Terriers score three goals in a half for the second straight game, having scored three times in the first half against Albany. It is their third win in their last four games, and runs their conference record to 3-1, right back in the middle of the conference race.
B. U. (3-4, 3-1) continues its conference road trip with a game at Towson on Sunday. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
