CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -
After helping the Boston University field hockey team post a 1-0 shutout victory at Maine in its regular-season finale, redshirt freshman Julie Collins has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. Collins is the third different Terrier rookie in four weeks to earn the honor.
The rookie goalkeeper played the second half of Sunday's contest and stopped everything she faced from the Black Bears to post a career-high five saves and help preserve the shutout.
Collins has appeared five contests this season and has not allowed a goal in her 81:02 of time in the BU cage.
The win over the Black Bears allowed BU to secure the No. 2 seed for the America East Championship, to be held Nov. 6-7 at the University at Albany. The Terriers will face Maine in the semifinal round on Friday at 4 p.m.
