Turer Named Patriot League Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

September 8, 2025

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After scoring her first collegiate goal while continuing to be a strong presence on the Terriers' back line, freshman Rachel Turer has been named the Patriot League Field Hockey Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Turer opened the scoring in Friday's contest against Vermont, flicking a corner shot to the left boards in the 34th minute for her first goal as a Terrier. The freshman center back played a full 60 minutes of regulation in both games over the weekend in regional non-conference play against the Catamounts and No. 14 Massachusetts.

Turer quickly earned a starting role for the Terriers following a standout career at The Taft School, where she was a two-time All-NEPSAC First Team honoree.

The Terriers will return to action on Friday (Sept. 12) when they host Quinnipiac to start a four-game homestand. Game time at New Balance Field is set for 4 p.m.
