CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Entering Tuesday's meeting against nationally-ranked Florida International with an unblemished singles and doubles record, freshman Petra Santini has been tabbed the first America East women's tennis player of the week during the 2009 spring season, the league announced. She has played an important role in helping guide the Terriers to a 7-1 record, including wins over Massachusetts and Harvard.
A native of Sibenik, Croatia, Santini is currently undefeated in singles during spring play at 7-0 and is also 6-0 in doubles. She earned a critical point during BU's 4-3 win over Harvard and won both of her matches to help the Terriers defeat UMass and Dartmouth by identical scores of 5-2.
Following the contest against No. 52 FIU, the Terriers continue their trip in Florida with Richmond on Thursday (March 12) and Florida Atlantic on Friday (March 13).
