CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After defeating her first ranked opponent of the season, freshman Stefanie Nunic earned Boston University's second consecutive America East women's tennis player of the week award, the league announced Tuesday. She recorded a 4-0 singles record last week and also went 2-2 in doubles.

A native of New York, N.Y., Nunic started off Spring Break in Florida by winning both of her matches to help BU knock off James Madison, 5-2. She then defeated current-No. 90 Mariani Muci of Florida International by rallying from one set down to grab the 2-6, 6-1, 6-0 victory. In the next two matches against Richmond and Florida Atlantic, Nunic earned both wins in two sets.

The award marks her first league honor and BU's second of the season after teammate Petra Santini received the award the previous week.

Nunic and the Terriers return to action Saturday (March 21) at Yale for a 1 p.m. start time.
