CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -
Playing in its final regular season match, the Boston University women's tennis team fell at No. 51 Boston College, 5-1, on Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles captured five of the six singles matches to improve to 8-12, while the Terriers dropped to 10-8.
Due to the unpredictable weather, the teams chose to only compete in singles. Junior Stefanie Nunic led BU with her 14th consecutive victory in the top spot. She avenged a loss last fall to Alex Kelleher with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
Freshman Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis provided the other highlight by winning a set against No. 103 Katarina Gajic. The ranked Eagle rallied back to pull out the 6-7, 6-0, 10-2 victory in the third slot.
The Terriers will now train and prepare for the America East Championships, which will begin Friday, April 29, at Yale University.
