BERKELEY, Calif. - Making its 13th straight NCAA appearance, the Boston University women's tennis team fell at No. 9 California, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Hellman Tennis Complex. With the win, the Bears improve to 17-6, while the Terriers end their season at 12-9.

Featuring the No. 1 and No. 30 doubles teams in the country, Cal captured the doubles point with wins in the No. 2 and 3 slots. The Bears had five ranked singles players and took the match with singles victories at No. 1, 3 and 6.

Two weeks after helping the Terriers claim the America East title with the championship clinching point, freshman Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis battled with No. 84 Annie Goransson, losing the first set, 6-4. The two were unable to extend the match, as the Bears had already won the necessary singles points.

Junior Monika Mical lost all six games in her first set but led in the second, 4-2, before her match was called.

The Teriers will be returning all six singles players for next season in which they will look to capture the program's 19th straight America East title.
