CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - With three matches remaining before the start of the America East Championship, the Boston University women's tennis team fell at No. 68 Boston College, 6-1, on Tuesday afternoon. Improving to 10-10, the Eagles won two of the three doubles matches for the first point and then captured five of the six singles points for the team victory.
Senior Petra Santini led the Terriers by first teaming with junior Vivien Laszloffy for an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles. She followed with a dominating 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles over Ina Kauppila.
Looking for BU's second point, Laszloffy won the first set at the top singles slot but eventually fell to Jessica Wacnik, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0. Senior Monika Mical rallied from a set down to go to a third but also fell at No. 3 to Olga Khmylev, 6-0, 4-6, 7-5.
Dropping to 6-11, the Terriers will next travel to Virginia to face William & Mary on Saturday (April 14) and VCU on Sunday (April 15).
