Women's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision at Harvard

ALLSTON, Mass. - After losing the doubles point, Harvard rallied with five singles victories to defeat the Boston University women's tennis team, 5-2, on Friday afternoon. With the loss, the Terriers drop to 3-4, while the Crimson improves to 3-3.

BU got on the board first by winning two of the three doubles contests. In the top slot, senior Jessi Linero teamed with junior Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadis for a hard-fought 8-6 victory. Competing at No. 3, freshmen Lauren Davis and Kim McCallum won the other match, 8-5.

After dropping an 8-4 decision at No. 2 doubles with sophomore Sami Lieb, senior Vivien Laszloffy rebounded at No. 3 singles for the 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Athanasiadis battled Sylvia Li in the No. 4 spot but came up just short in a 6-4, 6-3 decision.

The Terriers will remain on the road and visit Brown on Saturday (March 2) with action set to begin at 1 p.m.
