Women's Tennis Earns 4-3 Victory at Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Snapping a four-match losing streak, the Boston University women's tennis team earned a 4-3 victory at Brown on Saturday afternoon. With their first win over the Bears since 2007, the Terriers improve to 4-4.

Winning two of the three doubles matches for the first point, the Terriers then won three of the top four singles pot for the team victory against a Bears squad that was recently ranked as high as No. 63 in the nation. Suffering its first loss of the season against an unranked opponent, Brown fell to 3-4.

Senior Vivien Laszloffy and sophomore Sami Lieb teamed together for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles, while junior Kendal Drake and freshman Kim McCallumrecorded an identical score in the No. 3 slot.

During singles action, freshman Lauren Davis led the charge with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 against two-time All-Ivy First Team honoree Misia Krasowski. Lieb coasted to a 6-3, 6-0 victory in the No. 3 spot, and junior Leonie-Charlotte Athanasiadiswon the fourth point at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-4 decision.

Freshman Kim McCallumrallied from a set down to force a third, but with BU having already captured four points, she went straight to a super tiebreaker. Nikita Uberoi held on to win the No. 5 match, 6-1, 3-6, 10-4.

The Terriers will have a week off before traveling south to Orlando, Fla., to compete in three spring break matches, beginning with Richmond on Monday, March 11.
