BOSTON - Co-captain Rachel Coll scored a pair of goals on her Senior Day to help No. 17 Boston University field hockey team complete a perfect Patriot League season with a 6-0 victory over visiting Bucknell on Saturday afternoon at New Balance Field.

The win clinched the Terriers' first-ever Patriot League regular-season title and gave them home field for the league tournament, which will be held on Nov. 6-7 at New Balance Field.

Senior co-captain Sofi Laurito scored her team-leading ninth goal of the year and the Terriers also got tallies from junior Amanda Cassera, sophomore Grace Boston and freshman Kara Enoch. Junior Bea Baumberger Altirriba pushed her league-leading assist total to 14.

Junior Cammy Jensen (1 save) and freshman Kathleen Keegan combined for the shutout, helping BU improve to 11-5 overall with a 6-0 conference mark. The Terriers held a 17-3 shot advantage and earned six corners while giving up only two.

BU's corner offense was impressive, scoring four of them, including each of its first three. Baumberger Altirriba was the catalyst on the first two goals of the day, finding Cassera and Laurito for redirects off corners in the fourth and 13th minutes, respectively.

Enoch pushed the lead to 3-0 when a Bucknell turnover allowed her to go in on a breakaway. She pulled the ball to the right side before blasting a shot past Bucknell netminder Shannon Keen at the 27:29 mark.

The Terriers made it 3-for-3 on first-half corners when Coll tucked in a rebound off a shot attempt by sophomore Kali Shumock with 3:08 left in the opening half.

Coll completed her first-ever two-goal performance by knocking home another rebound off a corner. A shot by junior Sara Martineau from the top of the circle was stopped by Bucknell's second-half goalkeeper, Emily Finn, but the ball trickled to the left post, where Coll pushed it in at 51:06.

Boston completed BU's six-goal effort when she followed up her own rebound for her sixth goal of the season less than two minutes after Coll's second tally.

Keen made one save on five shots in the first half before Finn stopped six of the eight shots she faced after halftime.

The Terriers will return to action on Wednesday (Oct. 28) when they make the short trip to Harvard. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
