SUNRISE, Fla. - Three forwards on next year's Boston University's men's ice hockey team were selected within a span of 12 picks during the second round of the 2015 National Hockey League Entry Draft on Saturday at the BB&T Center.
Rising sophomore A.J. Greer started the run of BU talent when he was taken 39th overall by the Colorado Avalanche. Six picks later, incoming freshman Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson was taken by the Boston Bruins and Jordan Greenway, another member of the Class of 2019, was selected 50th overall six picks after that by the Minnesota Wild.
Including Jack Eichel, who was taken second overall in Friday's first round, the Terriers had four top-50 picks, the most of any school.
Greer played in 37 contests as a freshman and improved throughout the season, culminating in a promotion to the second forward line during the NCAA tournament. He is the latest in a long line of Terriers to be drafted by the Colorado/Quebec organization, which has now selected 13 BU players.
