Three members of the Boston University field hockey team are staying busy this summer playing for various national teams and programs.
Incoming freshman Kara Enoch was named to the 2015-16 U.S. Under-19 squad, rising sophomore Allie Renzi was selected to compete at the U21 national tournament and rising senior Rachel Feig is a member of the U.S. squad that is competing at the 2015 European Maccabi Games next week in Germany.
Enoch was one of 25 players selected to the U19 team at the end of the junior national camp, which was held in Lancaster, Pa. She earned a spot at the camp following her play at the Futures Elite tournament. Renzi was selected from regional High Performance practices to compete at the USA Field Hockey Under-21 National Tournament.
Next week in Berlin, Feig and her 11 Maccabi USA teammates will take on Germany (July 28), Argentina (July 29) and The Netherlands (July 30) before the semifinals are held on July 31. The European Maccabi Games are held every four years - opposite the World Maccabiah Games in Israel - and bring together the best Jewish athletes from across the globe. Feig won a bronze medal with U.S. team that participated in the 2013 Maccabiah Games.
