The 19th-ranked Boston University field hockey team will welcome Providence to New Balance Field in the middle of a three-game homestand on Sunday (Sept. 13). The game, which starts at 1 p.m., will be broadcast live on the Patriot League Network.
The Terriers (3-2) are 20-10-10 all-time against the Friars (0-5) and have won the past seven meetings, including a 2-1 road win last season.
BU is coming a hard-fought 2-1 overtime loss to No. 10 Boston College on Friday. Providence fell to Maine, 4-1, earlier in the day to fall to 0-5.
Junior Hester van der Laan continues to lead the Terriers in both goals (3) and assists (3). Juniors Bea Baumberger Altirriba and Madeline McClain, along with sophomore Grace Boston and freshman Ally Hammel, have registered two goals apiece.
Senior Emily Matthews and junior Adrienne Houle each have one goal and one assist to pace Providence through the season's first five games.
