The Boston University women's ice hockey team will return home Tuesday night after a four-game road trip to host Northeastern at Walter Brown Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
BU (3-2-1, 2-2-0 WHEA) and Northeastern (5-2-1, 0-0-0 WHEA) met last Tuesday at Matthews Arena with the Huskies earning a 6-2 win. Graduate student Mary Parker and freshman Natasza Tarnowski scored the Terrier goals, with Parker's serving as her 100th career point. Four different skaters recorded an assist, including senior Samantha Sutherland, who has tallied a point in five of the Terriers' six games. She leads all skaters that have played at least three games with an average of 1.17 goals per game.
Walter Brown Arena has been home sweet home for the Terriers this season. In two games there, BU is 2-0-0 and has outscored its opponents, 10-3. The Terriers own the fifth-best offense in the country at 4.0 goals per game and no other player has scored more goals at home than Sutherland (5).
Northeastern has won three straight games after a 3-0 triumph at Dartmouth on Friday. Sophomore Brittany Bugalski has two shutouts in her last three starts and was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week. She owns a 1.41 goals-against average and a .945 save percentage. Junior Denisa Krizova leads the Huskies with six goals and 11 points.
The Terriers will be well-rested thanks to a week off, and the rest will continue following Tuesday's tilt as BU won't play again until the weekend of Nov. 4-5 when they face Boston College in a home-and-home series.
