BOSTON – Looking to clinch a spot in next week's Patriot League tournament, the Boston University men's soccer team will conclude the regular season against Navy at Nickerson Field on Friday night with the start time slated for 7 p.m.

Last week, the Terriers collected a pair of shutout wins over Holy Cross and Army West Point to jump from ninth to fifth in the PL standings at 11 points. Only six teams advance to the PL tourney, and Bucknell (10), Lafayette (10) and Lehigh (9) are all within striking distance of keeping BU out.

TERRIER TIDBITS
  • BU is 6-2-0 at home this season with conference wins over Lafayette (1-0) and Army (1-0) and conference losses to American (2-0) and Colgate (2-1).
  • The Terriers are 4-1-1 in the last six games and have outscored opponents, 8-4, during that timespan.
  • Reigning PL Offensive Player and Midfielder of the Week Anthony Viteri (7g, 2a) scored both game winners last week and is currently tied with senior Felix De Bona (8g) in both points (16) and game-winning goals (3).
  • Reigning PL Goalkeeper of the Week Matt Gilbert recorded four saves apiece in two shutout wins last week ... He currently leads the PL in saves (4.73) and owns a 1.19 goals against average and 0.798 save percentage.
  • Freshman Jerry Ozor leads BU with five assists and is one of seven Terriers with at least two helpers.
SCOUTING NAVY
  • The Midshipmen are 1-6-0 on the road this season with a 1-0 win at Saint Joseph's.
  • In conference play, they have dropped the four previous road games by one goal apiece, including overtime defeats to Loyola Maryland and Lehigh.
  • Navy is 3-4-3 in the last 10 games with six contests going to overtime.
  • Daniel Zaremba leads the Mids in points at nine ... He is tied for the team lead with Sam Bascom in goals (3) and with Diego Manrique in assists (3).
  • Mac Burke has guarded the net all season and owns a 0.762 save percentage, a 1.05 goals against average and four shutouts.
SERIES HISTORY

    • Navy lost in double overtime by inadvertently heading in a cross from BU into the back of its own net.
  • The Terriers lead the all-time series, 2-1-0, with the lone loss occurring at Navy (1-0) in 2013.
